May we always remember Freedom Was Never Free!

In honor of Juneteenth my husband tasked our kiddos with researching and writing one page about Juneteenth.

I love what they wrote and I’m honored to share! It’s important not only that we know our why, but that we ensure our children understand it as well!

I almost teared up when Lyss wrote that Juneteenth is not only about freedom, but about honoring those that made this freedom possible 😭😭!

JJ is like me, he states the facts, but he found them and was able to communicate them and as parents we are now confident that these powerful truths aren’t simply trapped in a book, they are now also in the minds and hearts of our children.

Today is a good day! 🖤✊🏽

Just Say No!

WE ARE ALL TEACHERS!!!!

Everyday we are teaching someone something about us!  When we say yes and we know in our hearts that we should’ve said no, we teach others that their will and personal desires supersede our own.

When we follow our hearts and say no. We offer others clarity and we protect our own hearts from hardening because it’s overworked and overwhelmed.

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

-Proverbs 4:23 (NIV)

What will you teach your class today?

Keys To Decision Making

A wise woman shared this quote with me, and today I pass this wisdom on to you.

I also offer a few keys to making sound decisions.

1. Pause for the cause. Be anxious for nothing, take a moment to meditate. Remember you have the power of choice, you are in control and everything that you need to make this decision is already in you. Clear your mind and heart so you’re open to peace and clarity.

2. Break it down into small bits that you can chew. One line, three columns: top line – write the vision/decision to be made. Column 1 – list the pros, column 2 – list the cons, column 3 count the costs – Making this move comes at a cost? Are you willing to pay the price? Consider how your decision will impact your life, your wallet, your influence and/or the life of those you love?).

3. When in doubt ASK FOR HELP! Seek wise counsel from a mentor, elder, Pastor, or confidant.

4. Implementation: Once your clear on what to do, go do it!!

You’re no flat 🐿 you are vibrant, full of life, and equipped to make sound decisions. Often times you already know what you need to do, you’re just looking for the strength to do it and/or validation because you’re doubting yourself. When you find yourself at a crossroad, implement these keys then make your move! #TeamDecisive #NoFlat🐿
