Sometimes our moments can seem SO BIG, be overwhelming, and all consuming!

Let’s talk about life’s moments, here’s your morning (or evening) ☕️:

✅ They are REAL!
✅ They MATTER!
✅ They evoke powerful emotions!
✅ They are temporary!

‼️Where there are no moments, there is no life‼️

Life’s moments remind me of paint by number. If we were to assign each moment a color, at the end of our days, we’ve created a beautiful masterpiece! Millions of moments create your story. ONE moment is ONE part of your big picture!

❎ It isn’t your destiny
❎ It isn’t a stop sign, although It may require a detour
❎ If one moment isn’t so great, another one is coming and you get to choose whether you handle it or it handles you!

Every once in a while, the perspective conversation is required.
Today is your day!
Each moment belongs to you!

FREE TO BE ME!!!

FOR SOOOOO LONG I struggled with people pleasing and approval seeking!

I wanted to belong, I wanted to “fit in,” I wanted to he “chosen.” I desired genuine, authentic relationship, but somewhere in my story, I was taught that my efforts were currency and that love and acceptance weren’t freely given, but had to be purchased.

🏷If I work hard enough, they’ll value me.
🏷If I am consistent enough, they’ll trust me.
🏷If I’m always available, they’ll love me.

Today I am your friendly reminder that YOUR WORKS DO NOT DETERMINE YOUR WORTH!

Many of us are working too hard to “earn” the love and approval of others.

True relationship doesn’t come with a price tag. It’s not an if – then statement!

Anyone who values what you offer (your works) more than your person (who you are), does not deserve you!

We’re so busy working to get people to “choose us” that we forget the power of choice lies within us!

I AM valuable because I was born!

I MATTER because I exist!

I DESERVE love because I show love!

WHO I AM MATTERS MORE THAN WHAT I DO!

Fight Fear

FEAR comes in many forms:

⛓ A chain that binds your extremeties and disables movement.

🏋️‍♀️ A heavy weight that forces you to stay low when you know you should be standing tall.

🕶 Shades that alter your vision, causing you to exist in a world of can’ts.

🚨 An alarm. A reminder that danger is lurking, leaving you in an indefinite state of paralysis.

Fear, a friend and foe, that we must work hard to keep in check!

How do we denounce fear and embrace confidence, boldness, and curiosity?

Intentionally, force yourself to try something new often!

Society tells us that we have to be the best!

This mindset results in an identity crisis. We lose sight of who we were designed to be and begin to identify with who others require us to be! We then begin to feel inadequate because we find ourselves trying to either outrun another or exist at someone else’s pace.

Today I say, SLOW DOWN! Run your own race at your own pace. You weren’t designed nor equipped to run the race of another!

The best = YOUR BEST! Whatever that looks like!

Listen to your Heart!

📣 Listen Up 📣

Here’s the thing about feelings, they all matter and they exist for a reason.

Many of our emotions are protectors, they fight to keep us safe.

Others are sirens 🚨, they alert us that we have a need that is being unmet.

Often times we confine ourselves to one end of the emotional spectrum. The other end, we either ignore or resist.

Today, I challenge you to embrace the entire spectrum of emotion and listen to your 💜.

Looks like this:

1️⃣ Listen to the feeling: “Ok anxiousness, I feel you, I’m listening. What are you trying to tell me?”

2️⃣ Honor the feeling ➡️ Identify the need: “Ah, big meeting coming up. I’m intimidated. You are trying to protect me from the pain of failure, embarrassment and/or disappointment.”

3️⃣ Respond to the feeling: “This is happening and I still have to push forward. What do I need? I need to prepare and I need validation. I’ll be sure to put together a solid presentation, have extra notes, consult with colleagues, and get some extra love and support from my people so that I can be cool, calm, & confident. Thank you for alerting me, I’m OK.”

It’s true, emotions make you cry sometimes, but at the end of the day, they are our biggest advocates.

Tune into them all.

The Right to Decline

Friendly reminder, you have the right to DECLINE A FALSE THOUGHT!

Here’s how:

  1. Honor the thought.
  2. Determine if it’s actual reality or your perceived reality.
  3. Respond appropriately.

Looks like this:

  1. Thought: I’m such a failure, I can’t do anything right.
  2. Decide > True or false:

The thought is: I can’t do anything right > Everything I do is wrong.

THAT IS FALSE‼️

The word ANYTHING translates to EVERYTHING. Both words are absolutes, which by default is NOT TRUE!

  1. Response: Counteract the false thought with truth > “I did THIS ONE THING WRONG.”

ONE THING DOES NOT = everything.

I’m thriving in other areas so I AM capable of doing things right. I just need to work on this ONE THING.

I do not accept this as true.
