You Have The Power, But Do You Know It?

Basically, you have more power than you think AND you have the RIGHT to make whatever choices you deem are in your best interest!

AKA it’s your world! Everyone else is just living in it! 💜 Whose telling you that you can’t? Who are you listening to and why? I have people that I trust have my best interest in mind when giving me their counsel. These are my feeders and I’m grateful for their wisdom! Who are your feeders? Who are you seeking for wise counsel? Are they empowering you to take control and move toward your purpose? Or are they encouraging you remain stagnant and completely dependent upon them? What are their motives? What is their heart attitude towards you? What do they stand to gain from keeping you from pursuing the development of your God given talents and purpose? Consider these things and remember ultimately, the power is yours! Think about it!

The Heart of a Child and The Call of Parenting

So I’m in line buying breakfast for myself and the kids and my daughter just randomly says, “Don’t worry Mommy, one day, I’ll be able to pay for you!” Of course my heart is beginning to melt as I think, what a sweet child. THEN IT HIT ME … it’s my responsibility as a parent to ensure that she is adequately prepared to survive on her own, has a firm foundation when it’s time for her to make tough decisions that will either support or hinder her success, that she is protected from what she doesn’t know or can not see but also made aware that these dangers exist, that she is properly loved, cared for and redirected, and finally that she has been exposed to and given every opportunity so that she eventually does find herself in a position where she is able to “pay for me.”

Right now, it is my job to ensure that her needs are met but what a great responsibility we have as parents to prepare our kids for life and at least direct them to a path that will push them towards one day becoming independent and self sufficient. A very powerful woman once told me, “you raise and train your children to live without you” As a young mother I didn’t understand what she meant and honestly rejected the idea. But today, it makes sense. As parents this is our “one job” and the sacrifice demanded to make this happen is absolutely worth the investment.

The truly amazing opportunity that proper parenting presents, however, is to sacrifice and make the investment one time and then receive the “return” on our investment for many generations to come! Best life insurance policy I’ve ever heard of! It’s not easy and it’s WORK, but God knew what he was doing when he created parents!

So hang in there Momma, right now it’s not about you. Let my baby girls’ heart remind you that your sacrifice is not in vain and one day soon, you will reap generations of blessings as a result of your seed sown.

I’m so proud of our little family!  Our prayer is that as we are blessed, we may be a blessing to others!  We’re doing our best to raise up our next generation!

I dedicate this post to my amazing parents!  Your sacrifices were not in vain! You’ve molded and shaped many generations! 💕

It’s Time to Let Go!  Here’s WHY & HOW!

http://forthefamily.org/4-truths-hold-onto-family-members-dont-change/

Ran across this article and HAD to share.  Good Stuff!  Enjoy.  My favorite quote, “we must learn to love the solution more than we love being a part of it.”  Hard truth, but a lesson we all must learn.
Food for thought:

1) We don’t have the power to change people!

2) People have the power to change themselves.  Where they are weak, God is Strong and fully in control!

3) Pray REALLY DOES WORK.  But do we truly believe that?  I hear your words, but what do your actions say?

4) Why do we continue to believe that we can do God’s job so much better than he can??

CHOOSE to put your situation in God’s hands, then step back and watch him work!  He’s got you both!

I’m having to learn this myself daily!  It’s not easy, but it’s so necessary!

As I get older, I’m realizing, God is so much better equipped to handle the weight of this life than I am.  No need to for me to keep trying.  Slowly but surely, I’m teaching myself balance, pursuing peace, learning to not only trust, but to trust, then REST!

Stop carrying a load that’s not meant for you. Put it in God’s hands, trust that he’s got it and go get some rest!

Love you family!
